All about HyVal Industries, Incorporated


Brian Tinder
HyVal Industries, Inc. was incorporated in May of 1978 by founder and President William P. Tinder, LCDR, USN Ret. with partner and Vice President Alice P. Bailey. After the passing of Mr. Tinder in 2006, the eldest son, William B. Tinder, assumed control of the business until his passing in 2007. Upon his passing, the youngest son, Brian D. Tinder became President and owner of HyVal. Brian is a graduate of Virginia Tech and former Certified ISO Quality Manager. He accelerated HyVal's commitment to achieving and remaining an ISO compliant company in the ship repair industry. HyVal is currently ISO compliant through the Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA). After 34 years and the retirement of the original Office Manager, Brian hired his wife and two daughters to solidify the front office.

From its inception, the objective of the business was to provide hydraulic repairs and service to shipyards around the world having Master Ship Repair Contracts (MSRC) with the government repairing naval and military sealift command marine vessels.

Over the past 38 years, HyVal Industries has amassed a lengthy résumé of hydraulic and mechanical repairs and services on both commercial and military vessels. HyVal's expertise encompasses most major hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, and mechanical systems found on marine vessels.
